Why Gravel Worlds Feels Like Coming Home

Why Gravel Worlds Feels Like Coming Home

There are races you remember because of the course.

There are races you remember because of the finish.

And then there are events you remember because of the people.

For Dirt Squad, Gravel Worlds has become one of those places.

Yes, we're going to Lincoln to ride bikes.

Some of us will chase big goals. Some will tackle a new distance. Some will have incredible days, and some will have the kind of day where simply getting back to the finish feels like a victory.

But somewhere between the start line and the stories afterward, something else happens.

We find each other.

That's What Dirt Squad Is About

Dirt Squad has never been about being the fastest rider in the group.

It's about the rider who waits.

The person who introduces themselves when they see someone standing alone.

The friend who reminds you that you can keep going when you're convinced you're done.

And the people who celebrate your finish as if it were their own.

That's the Dirt Squad I want people to experience when they come to Gravel Worlds.

So We're Doing Something Different

This year, we're not treating our Gravel Worlds space like a traditional expo booth.

We're treating it like our clubhouse.

Come sit down.

Charge your phone.

Tell us how your ride went.

Meet someone you've only known through Facebook.

Introduce yourself if you've been following Dirt Squad but haven't joined.

And if you're standing outside wondering whether you should come in...

Please do.

You don't have to be a member.

You don't have to know anyone.

You certainly don't have to be fast.

Leave Your Mark

We're also bringing something special to Lincoln this year.

Our partners at Cuore are creating a Dirt Squad banner for Gravel Worlds.

It begins with one message:

YOU BELONG HERE.

But we're not going to finish it.

You are.

Throughout the weekend, we're inviting riders to sign it.

Add your name.

Add your hometown.

Leave us a message.

By the end of Gravel Worlds, we want that banner covered with the names of the people who made the weekend what it was.

Then we'll take it home exactly that way.

Not as a piece of event signage.

As a piece of Dirt Squad history.

This starts with our logo. You help us finish it. Come sign the Dirt Squad banner at Gravel Worlds.

Come Find Your People

Maybe you're coming to Gravel Worlds with twenty friends.

Maybe you're coming with one.

Maybe you're showing up wondering whether you'll know anybody.

Come find us.

There will be a place for you.

There will be someone who wants to hear your story.

And hopefully, by the time you leave Lincoln, there will be at least one more person in your life you can't wait to ride with again.

That's why Gravel Worlds feels like coming home.

It's not because we've been there before.

It's because our people are there.

We'll see you in Lincoln.

You Belong Here.
